Remarkable Norton Internet Security
Many programs offer to secure your PC against Internet threats, but few names are as trusted as Symantec. While these other security suites do perform to an acceptable level, Symantec continuously pushes the bar
higher with its innovative and effective security software. Symantec does offer security software that has many additional features not seen in other security software. However, Norton Internet Security 2008 is a full featured Internet security suite for your PC that will not bust you budget.
Much of the protection available in the Norton security software occurs behind the scenes of your PC which gives you the benefit of being able to work on your PC trouble free and without the burden of constantly having to interact with the program. Once you have installed the software and setup your personal preferences, that is it and you do not need to do anything else.
The software works very well and I have not had any trouble with any viruses, spyware, or even tracking cookies since I installed it. The software is constantly updated and new virus definitions are constantly being released. This happens without any interaction from you and you will not even notice when these updates take place.
Norton Internet Security 2008 protects against viruses, Trojans, malware, spyware, phishing, and identity theft. However, this security suite does not just protect your Internet browsing, but it protects your email, and your PC from prying eyes. One of the features that I was a little leery of was the “Identity Safe.” It is a little scary to trust all of your login data to a program running on your computer. However, in order to fully evaluate this software I decided I had to give all of the features available a try.
The “Identity Safe” is amazing and I wish I had used it sooner. This feature in the Internet Security software allows you to store your login information, including usernames and passwords, and allows you to login automatically by clicking a link in a dropdown box in your browser. It is very convenient and saves me a lot of time typing in my login information on the many sites that I visit on a regular basis. However, if you share your computer with other people or if you leave your computer on all of the time, you can logout of the “Identity Safe” so that nobody else can use your login data.
I did have one problem after installing the software for the first time. My computer started to run very slowly and my browser would almost stand still while trying to load websites. I went to the Symantec support pages and the answer was readily available. It was so obvious that I did not believe that it would actually solve the problem but it did. The issues were simple, I simply had to clean out my temporary Internet files, clean my hard drive, and then defragment it.
I performed all of these task and my computer runs like new, even with the Internet Security running. Now I do not even notice any delays in the performance of my PC. I can say from experience that your computer represents a large investment on your part. You owe it to yourself to protect your data and your identity with the first name in computer security.
